How to Remove Skin Tags Safely at Home

Most people want to know how to remove skin tags if they appear in visible parts of the body. Removal can be expensive if a surgical procedure is required as they can grow back and require further surgery and additional cost. The ideal situation is to be able to treat them without requiring surgery and without needing to visit a dermatologist.

There are many safe home remedies for getting rid of unwanted skin tags and many of the methods are very simple and easy to do yourself. Naturally, before doing anything you want to be sure it is actually a skin tag you plan to remove and not something more serious. If your skin specialist or dermatologist has advised you that it is a skin tag, then it is safe to proceed without any concerns.

This may not sound too appealing, but it is easy and virtually pain free. All you need to do is follow this simple process:

1. Clean the area of skin around the tag thoroughly

2. Tie the thread tightly at the base of the stalk. You can numb the area with ice if you want.

3. Take your sterile scissors and snip the peduncle part off at the point where you tied the tag.

4. To prevent infection you should use some antibacterial ointment while it heals.

5. Use cotton wool or a band aid to stem any blood flow.

The process above is one of numerous ways to safely remove skin tags at home. The key is to cut off the blood supply to the area before removal. This reduces bleeding and amount of pain. Always ensure you use sterilized equipment to lower the risk of infection.

If you suffer from skin tags and this method is not appealing, you can always check out some of the other methods in our special report.
